FMS Emulation
For providing a realistic FMS training experience, the A320 FMS training software is based on the Thales FMS 2 – Release 1A system.
Worldwide Database
The FMS trainer is equipped with a worldwide NAV database. For training purposes, please keep in mind that the provided NAV data might not represent the latest available real-life data.
Features of the A330 / 340 FMS Trainer:
- All normal A330 / 340 FMS operations are possible on the trainer;
- A flight phase selector menu allows you to choose the flight phases that you wish to train on;
- Free-play Mode - a mode which allows you to explore the FMS functions at your leisure;
- A Guided Tour Mode - this allows you to explore the FMS with an assisted tour;
- A Static Analyzer - allows you to check your flight details;
- A CPDLC demo menu - allows you to explore some common datalink scenarios;
- A Failure Case Menu - demonstrates the most relevant failures the MCDU/FMGC can experience e.g. Engine Failure, Single Mode, etc;
- Nav Display and EFIS Control Panel - To check the route entries in the FMS just like in the real aircraft, a navigation display and an EFIS control panel are also simulated;
- MCDU Menu - Like in the real aircraft, ATSU, AIDS and CFDS menus may be accessed via the MCDU MENU key;
- IRS Simulation - This software includes a basic simulation of the IRS system found on the A330 and 340;
- Weather and OFP Data Functions.
